Teaching Associate in Creative Writing (810649), University of Strathclyde - Humanities
Deadline: Fri 22 May 2026
The University of Strathclyde seeks to appoint a Teaching Associate to join our English & Creative Writing subject team, on a 0.6 FTE fixed term maternity cover contract, with relevant creative practitioner and teaching experience, to deliver creative practice-based modules across the curriculum.

The Department of Humanities is a community of researchers, teachers, students, and support staff working together on cutting edge issues in contemporary culture. English & Creative Writing (ECW) is an integral part of the Department and wider University with popular honours and joint-honours undergraduate degrees, three Masters-level programmes (in Creative Writing; Literature, Culture & Society; and an MFA in Creative Writing); and a vibrant PhD community. Creative Writing is ranked 1st in the UK in the current The Times/Sunday Times Good University Guide.

We welcome applicants with specialisms in any area of practice in Creative Writing but are particularly keen to attract applicants who can contribute to research-informed and practice-based UG & PG modules in experimental fiction and poetry; genre writing; and a module on the contemporary writing landscape in Scotland.
