The 2025 Oxford Poetry Prize
Deadline: Sun 31 Aug 2025
The Oxford Poetry Prize is awarded annually for a single unpublished poem of no more than 50 lines and is open to poets writing in English around the world. This year’s guest judge is Rebecca Tamás.

The winner receives £1,000. The runner-up receives £200, and the second runner-up receives £100. All prize-winning poets are also offered publication in the print magazine Oxford Poetry.

Established in 1910, Oxford Poetry is the oldest dedicated poetry magazine in the UK, and one of the oldest in the world. Previous editors include W. H. Auden, Aldous Huxley, and Dorothy L. Sayers, and past contributors include Anne Carson, Seamus Heaney, Ishion Hutchinson, Philip Larkin, Paul Muldoon, and J. R. R. Tolkien.

The submission fee for each poem is £10. A limited number of free entries is available to low-income writers.
