The 5th High Wolds Poetry Festival - Call for poems inspired by Mysterious Tales & Unusual Stories
This year's High Wolds Poetry Festival is now open for poetry submissions around the theme of Mysterious Tales & Unusual Stories.
The festival will publish a collection of work from poems submitted and will run an open mic at North Dalton on Saturday September 23rd, 11am-6pm. Entry is free and non-competitive.
Send us your work, themed or not, any form, tone, style. It might be inspired by the Yorkshire Wolds or by your own experiences in general. We want poets of any ability, experience, age and background to read or listen on the day - and anyone is welcome to come and read.
Free workshops
This year, we are also running three free workshops tied into the theme, with the idea of helping poets to produce work in advance of the closing date for book submissions:
1. Beverley Treasure House, Saturday, July 29th, Beverley, East Yorkshire
2. Skidby Mill, Tuesday, August 8th, Skidby, East Yorkshire
3. North Dalton's All Saints Church on Saturday, August 26th, North Dalton, East Yorkshire
