The Compass: Call for submissions for Issue 8
Deadline: Wed 31 Jul 2019
The Compass magazine aims to locate and flag up outstanding poetry. Published twice a year, it comes out of England but comprises striking British and international poetry. It also publishes articles and interviews, and reviews of collections by established voices and new voices to watch out for.
We don’t have themed submissions—we feel that poets need to write what they need to write—however we would, for Issue 8, be very keen to read poems that encapsulate the current political climate, be it today or a couple of months from now.
Not rants, not abstraction, but those moments which most speak of what it is like to live right now, at this time of political instability: poems about people, their actions, where they go, the things they say.
That said, do send us your best work, no matter what the subject. We remain keen to read international submissions and translations, so please keep them coming in.
