The Julian Lennon Prize for Poetry
Deadline: Sat 5 Jun 2021
Launching on Earth Day 2021, the Julian Lennon Prize for Poetry aims to support emerging and aspiring talents while also supporting the work of The White Feather Foundation for the betterment and conservation of life. Open to writers of any nationality resident in the UK or Ireland writing in English aged 16 and over at the time of the closing date.

Poems (max 40 lines) can be in any style or form, with some relation to nature, the environment or the conservation of life - however subtle it may be - open to the poet's interpretation. We want to keep it broad in terms of inspiration for poets - whether from the photography of Julian Lennon or your own experiences in nature and the betterment of life. You can enter up to five poems.

Prizes
First Prize: £1,000
Second Prize: £500
Third Prize: £200

Highly Commendable Entries will also be selected.

Fees
£10 for your first entry. Any subsequent entries are £5 each. The maximum number of entries you can submit is five. Free to enter for unemployed/low-income earners (with relevant documenting evidence attached).

Judges: The prize will be judged by Julian Lennon, Jehane Markham and Seán Street - with Julian Lennon having sole final decision over the final winners.

Born in Liverpool, England, Julian Lennon began his artistic trajectory at a young age with an inherent gift for playing musical instruments. Those abilities would soon broaden into the cinematic and visual arts. As an observer of life in all its forms, Julian developed his personal expression through such mediums as music, fine-art photography, documentary filmmaking, philanthropy and writing. He has also been recognised worldwide for his humanitarian efforts as the founder of The White Feather Foundation.
