Nick Hern Books (NHB) – the UK’s leading specialist theatre publisher and performing rights agents – is looking for five passionate, up-and-coming playwrights based in the UK to join our exciting new Mentoring scheme.
Each mentee will be paired with an experienced, NHB-published playwright, who will offer creative guidance, encouragement and insight to help them towards writing a full-length play.
If selected, you will benefit from:
Six online sessions with your mentor, each lasting 60-90 minutes, to take place between September 2026 and July 2027
Dramaturgical support to help you develop a new full-length play, including feedback on one full draft
The opportunity to discuss and receive first-hand advice on the realities of life as a professional playwright in contemporary UK theatre
Our 2026/27 NHB Mentors are Carys D. Coburn, Beth Flintoff, James Fritz, Cordelia Lynn and Sabrina Mahfouz.
