The Ronald Duncan Playwriting Competition
Deadline: Sat 30 Nov 2013
The Ronald Duncan Playwrighting Competition is an annual event that gives new writers a chance to have their work produced
The Certainty of Chance Theatre Company in association with the Ronald Duncan Literary Foundation are delighted to present the Ronald Duncan Prize 2013.

The Ronald Duncan playwrighting competition is for new and up and coming writers. For the last two years the competition has been run by Encore drama and has produced two fantastic shows "Joe's War" and "Rasputin's Mother".

The theme of this year's contest is protest. The writer Ronald Duncan was a pacifist and advocate of peaceful protest which included successfully facing a Conscientious Objection tribunal in 1944. To celebrate his commitment to this cause, this year's Ronald Duncan prize will showcase the best new play that tackles the subject of protest. This could be a peaceful protest, a violent protest or set against the backdrop of a historical protest, the choice is entirely up to you. What we want to hear is an original and interesting voice from a new or up and coming playwright.
