Volunteer Assistant Writers, Spark Young Writers programme, Writing West Midlands
Deadline: Mon 3 Aug 2020
Writing West Midlands are recruiting this year’s new cohort of volunteer assistant writers for the Spark Young Writers programme. Are you interested in creative writing? Would you like experience working with children and young people?

As a volunteer Assistant Writer, you would be required to support delivering the workshop with the Lead Writer for about two hours every month between September and June. At first, these sessions will be online, but we may move to in-person sessions in the new year. Our groups are for young people between the ages of 7 – 11, 10 – 15 and 12 – 17.

You must be over 18 to volunteer to be an Assistant Writer, and you'll need to commit to all 10 sessions from September 2020 to June 2021.

We will provide training before the sessions begin, and throughout your time with us, there will be plenty of opportunities to develop particular skills or experiences you would like.

This is a voluntary post, but we will cover reasonable travel expenses.
