Writers' Centre Norwich are looking for creative and inspiring volunteers to help young people build confidence in creative reading and writing
You will support them to feel at home in their local and school libraries and plan and deliver weekly sessions to inspire them in creative reading and writing with help and training provided by
Writers’ Centre Norwich and Norfolk Library and Information Service. You’ll get the chance to meet published and performance artists and work alongside them and other volunteers. Rewards include free gig tickets to local literary events and a comprehensive and exciting training package packed with tips, resources and practical advise. Travel and parking expenses are provided.
You will need to have experience of or an affinity for working with 12-18 year olds, be supportive and understanding and passionate about either reading or writing creatively. While the role is stated as between 3-6 months, long term commitment is encouraged but not essential.
The Volunteer-led Reading and Writing Programme is a new project funded by the Arts Council and delivered by Writers Centre Norwich in partnership with Norfolk Libraries and Information Service in community and school libraries across the county.
