durham region, ON OCTOBER 12, 2010: Writers come up with wild ideas. Why not write them down? Wild Words, WCDR’s themed prose contest is looking for entries.
Send readers on a wild ride. Tell a tale about a trip into “the wilds.” Invent a character with wild ideas. Narrate your wild past. Write about an adventure with the Minnesota Wild hockey team. In short, let your wild and crazy side take over.
If your entry wins, you’ll have a wild time with the winnings. The $750 first prize includes publication in both the literary magazine Surfacing and the Wild Words literary anthology. The $500 second prize winner, $250 third place winner and selected honourable mentions will also be published in the anthology. All published entries reap $25 payment and a contributor’s copy. What’s more, each and every entry in the contest receives written feedback from the judges.
This open genre, open form prose competition welcomes fiction and non-fiction. The maximum word count is 1200 words. The entry fee is just $20 Canadian – $25 for international entries. Online submissions only.
