Windrush Project Coordinator, Seven Stories the National Centre for Children`s Books
Deadline: Wed 30 Jun 2021
Seven Stories is seeking a freelance creative learning professional to work alongside our collection and learning teams for six months to develop digital learning resources and bookpacks and a programme of schools and public events.

Our Windrush Stories programme, which is supported by a Windrush Day grant from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, is designed to highlight the contributions of writers from the Caribbean to British children’s literature, as an inspiration for young people of Caribbean descent to see themselves as the writers of the future.

We will draw on the archives of four writers who grew up in the Caribbean but have lived and worked in Britain since the 1970s, author Grace Hallworth; and poets John Agard, Valerie Bloom and Grace Nichols who have made an inestimable contribution to the British poetry scene.

Fee: 30 days @ £285 per day between July 2021 and December 2021
