Write to Life Volunteer Mentor, Freedom from Torture
Deadline: Fri 31 Jan 2020
We are looking for a professional writer, experienced with vulnerable populations, to mentor clients in creative writing sessions (one to one and group workshop) at Write to Life, the creative writing group at Freedom from Torture.

Write to Life is a unique writing group working with survivors of torture. Over the past 20 years it has helped hundreds of survivors, all clients and ex clients at Freedom from Torture, and collaborated on creative projects with the Roundhouse, Tate Gallery, Victoria and Albert and British Museums, Ice&Fire and Tamasha Theatres and Universal Music, among others.

Although primarily a writing group, that writing has taken many forms, from film to musical narrative to theatre, and now exploring comedy.

Freedom from Torture aims to be a survivor-focussed and led organisation, and we’re keen that group members be encouraged to co-facilitate and plan workshops.

Contract: 1 year minimum commitment
Hours: Fortnightly on Wednesday from 17:30 -20:00
Location: London, Finsbury Park
Salary: Unpaid (we can contribute towards reasonable travel and lunch expenses)

We particularly encourage applications from BAME groups.
