Writers' HQ has launched a new writing competition to give writers who are short on time and money the opportunity to access a year of online creative writing courses
Writers' HQ, which runs creative writing retreats, courses and workshops “for badass writers with no time or money”, is offering FIVE writers the chance to win a year's full access to the course material, worth over £500, thanks to an Arts Council grant.
The courses cover every aspect of writing, from idea generation to plotting to editing to manuscript submission and short fiction.
Competition entrants are asked to send either the opening 1,500 words of a novel or a short story up to 1,500 words, and a short application statement (around 200-500 words) on why you would benefit from the courses.
Writers' HQ is a Brighton-born company run by Jo Gatford and Sarah Lewis. They recently won Arts Council Funding to develop their online courses for time- and finance-poor writers.
