Writers’ HQ: Creative Writing Workshop call: what does home mean and how do we write about it?
Deadline: Fri 24 Jul 2026
This is a call for generative creative writing workshops exploring themes of diaspora, identity, the body and self, and concepts of home.
This year’s Writers’ HQ Writing as Resistance Festival is an exploration of what home means, both physically and metaphysically, and how we write it.
What does home mean in a world where the security of the ground under our feet is increasingly insecure – through genocide, war and climate change – and how do we, as writers, tackle this?
The workshops will run for one hour online during evenings (GMT) in September and the recording available for WHQ members to watch after in our workshop library. The standard fee is £150 for a one hour workshop.
We particularly welcome pitches from writers belonging to systemically marginalised groups.
