"I love to combine my skills as an author & illustrator to create beautiful picturebooks. I also love to share my experience and enthusiasm with children and their teachers!"
Pippa's superbly engineered fairytale pop-up version of The Princess & The Pea was published in 2011 by Tango Books and MacMillan. Since then she has written, illustrated and designed more than thirty original picture books and activity packs for museums, co-operatives and educational organisations. Pippa is also an accomplished storyteller and performer with experience of designing and delivering successful pre-school theatre program.
Throughout the past decade Pippa has enjoyed working as a freelance practitioner and consultant with primary schools, nurseries and Sure Start Centres to develop a wide array of literacy-based projects. In 2017 she worked in collaboration with KS1 children from a Manchester primary school to create four amazing picture books that so impressed Lauren Child, the Waterstones Children’s Laureate 2017-19, that she recorded a special video message to share at the launch event.
Young children love Pippa's simple illustration style and playful approaches to storytelling. Older children can learn about the process of getting a book published and discover some of the principles of paper engineering and story structure. Every child has opportunity to create something of their own - a character, a page spread, a mini book, an ebook - in these playful and engaging workshops.
