I am the author of THE CURRY MILE a novel set in Manchester. I am also a poet (regional performance poetry champion) and screenwriter (AMERIKHANISTAN).
I am fascinated by how stories captivate and inspire audiences; I believe telling your own can transform lives.
Teaching creative writing is tough with so many targets to meet. I deliver workshops that teach children how to conjure fresh metaphor, plan stories, discover unforgettable characters and teach them how to tell their own story in their own words.
What makes my approach UNIQUE is that I focus on the different learning and thinking styles of children; visual, auditory and kinaesthetic. This means children go away, not only with (hopefully) a better understanding of creative writing, but also of THEMSELVES which will help them other subjects too.
Here are some workshops I deliver:
FICTION
"Conflict: The Heart of Story", "Introduction to Screenplay", "Introduction to the Short Story", "Making Sentences Stronger", "Planning the Novel", "The Hero's Journey" and "Storyboard"
POETRY
"Introduction to Poetry", "Metaphor, the Heart of Poetry", "Performance Poetry" and "Poetic Form"
Finally, I am quite active on social media; Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus as well as on Wattpad. I like to connect directly with readers - and writers.
